What’s in a name?
Why are we called Netro42 (asked nobody in particular)? Well, if you like a bit of history, back in the last millennium, two companies, ‘Netro Communications’ and ‘Forty-Two Communications’, came together to form what has since been known as Netro42.
The word ‘Netro’ was a play on ‘metro’ as in metropolitan and ‘net’ as in Internet, while the 42 element was a reference to the Douglas Adams novel, ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’, in which 42 represented “the meaning of life, the universe, and everything” as determined by the fictional supercomputer Deep Thought.
The netro42.com domain name was available so we thought, ‘Why not?’
